xx And i'd give up forever to touch youCause I know that you feel me somehow
"Tohru just hold on....can you hear me?".
[/i] "She's going to be alright isn't she? Those two voices had been the ones she heard calling out to her when she had been laying on the cold pavement in the pouring rain. But there had also been another voice.....a cold voice before those two that she couldn't hear, in her mind right now everything was fuzzy and confusing. And then she had woken up in the hospital where she has been for the pass few weeks recovering from an accident that the doctors told her about. Near her bedside there were small gifts and and fresh flowers everyday, and notes from her friends Arisa and Saki. And what she also thought was odd was there were notes from someone named Yuki and Momiji, also Kisa and a few others. Why did those names seem so familiar to her as if she should remember them. Since she had been in the hospital all she has done is stare out the window in her room, lost in thought and trying to figure things out. Tohru's injuries had been quite severe, she suffered a broken arm and leg also several other injuries and a few cracked ribs. What she couldn't understand in her mind is why someone would not watch where they are driving in such horrible weather conditions. And why did he mind keep traveling back to this dark figure standing over her. Slowly turning her head she glanced towards the gifts once more by her bedside, reaching out her hand and taking hold of a teddy bear someone left for her. Just how many visitors did she get when she was either sleeping or when she was unconcious for the few days in the hospital. With all these gifts, so many people must care for her deeply. Laying back slowly on the pillow on her bed she just stared at the teddy bear in her hand, tilting her head slightly to the left then quickly put it beside her on the bed as she heard the door to her room open. Wondering who could it be that was coming to visit her.[/blockquote][/size]

Yuki had been worried sick these past few days. After finding the person that was most precious to him in the entire world on the side of the road injured, it had nearly crushed him. He had never felt his heard rip as much as he had felt it then. Yuki had been so mad and so upset that night than he had been ever before. Sure, even the cat was irritating but never like this. To feel so hopeless like you couldn't do anything no matter how much you wanted to, it was heart clenching.
Yuki had never, ever felt so frustrated. He had a huge bone to pick with Kyo. The idiot cat, didn't he ever learn? He should of been with Tohru, walking her home that night. Instead she was alone and she had gotten hurt. Yuki didn't know what was more painful, seeing her like this when it could of been preventable, or the fact that he couldn't of done anything for her anyway. He wasn't Tohru's knight, no it wasn't him that she loved. It was kyo, and he respected that, he understood that he couldn't do anything to stop what had happened.
He wouldn't say anything to Tohru because, well, he loved her and he wanted her to be happy no matter what. Even if that removed him from the picture. But now, now he wasn't so sure that was a good idea. If the idiotic cat couldn't protect her, he didn't want to leave her with him. He was going to beat the stupid cat within an inch of his life. Even though the curse had been lifted on his family, he couldn't help but continue referring to kyo as the stupid cat. And it seemed he had learned nothing after all this time.
Yuki tried to relax the clenched fist that he held at his side. He couldn't be upset right now. No, he was coming to check on Tohru again. The doctors said that not much damage had been done to her body, but he was still deathly worried for her. He didn't think anyone had caught her awake just yet either. Everyone was worried even Tohru's friends. So, Yuki had decided to come check on her one more time. He only hoped Kyo wasn't there. He would hate to have to fight the idiot in front of Tohru.
Yuki still had all these thoughts circling in his head when he slowly opened the door to Tohru's room. After seeing her asleep all this time what he saw he didn't expect. Seeing her awake made a softness come to his face. One that would of never come to his face at all if it hadn't been for her. A small smile gracing his face as he closed the door quietly but quickly. "Tohru! Thank goodness! None of us thought you were going to ever wake up!" he said.
He couldn't hide the relief and happiness that rushed to his voice. He was so happy to see her awake. His eyes saddened slightly at the look of her in that bed, but at least she was okay, at least she was awake! He quickly sat down in the chair next to her bed that he had sat at many hours before simply holding her hand hoping she would wake. Now he could actually talk to her and see that she was fine. It uplifted him, in ways no one else possibly could unless they were her.
He gently took her hand holding his around it. "Tohru.. I've been so worried... are you feeling any better?" he asked softly, his violet hues trained on hers.

xx And i'd give up forever to touch youCause I know that you feel me somehow
Tohru could remember the pain she had been in when she had finally woken up, every part of her body had been riddled with pain and she had just wanted to scream out loud at the top of her lungs but couldn't. In those few moments when she had woken up her mind raced of why she was in the hospital, how come she was in such immense pain. Her eyes still trying to focus she could see the doctors and nurses around her, saying things she couldn't make out. And that's when she had slipped into a small unconcious state and probably why she had been so surprised at the gifts near her bedside when she woke up once more. Even though her memory was only images of fuzzy things and garbled voices, to receive all this meant that there were people out there who cared for her very very much. And here she was now laying in the hospital bed listening to the sounds of the machines beeping nearby, with IV's in her arms and having the teddy bear she took from the small table in her room beside her on the bed. That's when she heard the door open to her room and saw a boy with familiar hair walk in, but she couldn't remember him. Though when he spoke her thoughts trailed back to the night she was found on the road, his voice.
"Yes....neither did I, but i'm awake now and recovering". Tohru returned the smile he had given her, before blinking a little. "Others? Oh no have I worried alot of people, I didn't mean to....". That could be seen from the gifts and cards and well wishes she got, but she still had to panic a little which started to make the machines beep rapidly. Not wanting to get the nurses in the room though she calmed down, watching as the boy walked over and took a seat in the chair next to her bed. Had that chair been there all this time. This was her first time even noticing it was there. Feeling him take hold of her hand, Tohru felt calm and safe having him in the room with her. His touch was so familiar to her as well. "The way you speak, and how your holding my hand. It feels as if you've always done that". Tohru couldn't explain it, she wanted to figure out how come his voice, his smile and the way he touched her felt so....familiar.
And when he spoke again the smile stayed constant on her lips. "I'm feeling better now that your here, but I don't know why." Her eyes seemed to fixate upon his, never leaving them. It was almost like she was searching them trying to find answers that she wanted to know, like why he was so familiar to her. Why his voice seemed to calm and wrap her in a blanket of protection, why she felt safe with him by her side. Finally taking her eyes away from his she picked up the teddy bear beside her and held it up. "Isn't it cute? I think if I read the card correctly a Momiji left it".

When she looked at him she could still make his heart melt. Without having to say anything at all. That was the affect she had on him. Even if she didn't love him, would never love him. No matter how much it hurt seeing her with someone else, as long as he could remain her friend and see her beautiful smile and those gleaming eyes so full of life and kindness he could be happy. He was just happy that she awake, the joy couldn't be brought down by anything or so he had thought.
He was rather happy that she was talking to him. However at his words a small laugh came from his mouth. That was his Tohru all right. She was always considering everyone else before herself. But right now, everyone was concerned about her, so she shouldn't of been worried about worrying them. They all cared about her greatly, and they owed her so much. Or at least the Sohma's did. She had broken their curse. And, no one else could say the same. "That's our Tohru. Don't apologize. The only reason we were all worried was because we all love you very much." he said.
He looked up as the machines started to jump to life, by tohru. Getting really worried and over excited as always. A soft smile graced his features as he watched her and she seemed to calm herself down. "Not really a fan of the nurses? " he asked since she seemed quite adamant about slowing down her heart rate. When he took her hand he could tell that she relaxed a bit. It made him smile softly. He was glad that he could help her even a little bit. However, her next words made a frown come to his face.
What did she mean like always? Well he hadn't held her hand often before unless she was a sick or if she wanted to hold it. But it was almost like.. she thought he had never done it. At the moment he was so confused he didn't respond. He didn't have to before her next sentence started to pull it all together. Tohru... No. Anything but that. If there was any sort of god that was up there in the heavens that watched them. He couldn't of done this.. To do it to Tohru who had been the kindest person to him in his entire life. The same person he had fallen in love with.
He could feel his eyes shake as tears formed in his violet eyes. They had lost their spark and were now filled with horrible sadness and regret. He felt his hand tighten on her's. Not enough to actually hurt her but enough to know that she was still there and this wasn't just a dream. His throat felt dry and nothing would come out in the feeling of words. Nothing wanted to respond only the tears that finally slipped down the sides of his face. Though it had felt like eons to Yuki only a few seconds had passed and Tohru had looked away from him.
Her eyes moving to a teddy bear. One he knew very well. Momiji had picked it out just for Tohru and he had come with the young Sohma to give it to her. He himself had gotten flowers with Kyo. A few notes to her in case she woke up when they weren't there. But, now all of them seemed non existent. Tohru didn't remember them, any of them. That accident... she had lost her memories and it crushed Yuki to pieces. But.. Tohru didn't need any of this right now.
As she turned back to him with the teddy bear he quickly rubbed away the tears with his arm. He put on a fake smile though he wasn't nearly as happy as he had been before. The old Tohru probably would of been able to tell that his mask was a fake, and he could only hope this one didn't know. "Well.. miss Tohru.. Momiji, is one of your friends. As am I. I'm sure you have read my name over there as well. I'm Yuki Sohma.." he said softly. Though, despite his calm voice and mask.. his inside was braking.

xx And i'd give up forever to touch youCause I know that you feel me somehow
Tohru had always been the girl to put others needs before hers, it was just a habit of hers for as long as she could remember. Or at least she felt like that it was important, she didn't completely lose her memory and there were a few names she seemed to remember from the cards by her bedside. Like Arisa and Saki, but the others were a blur in her mind and she wanted so badly to try and clear those blurs so it would make more sense to her. When the boy spoke again saying her name and also mentioning that there were others who had all been worried and loved her so much, she felt kind of bad. To think she was loved so much by this stranger and others yet she didn't remember them. In her heart she felt like a twinge of pain because this boy who stood in her room and now sat beside her, his words were so soft. And not only that but she could have sworn she heard his words call out to her that night of the accident as well. This was all so confusing to her and she wanted to sort it out right away but her mind wasn't letting her. "Your saying others love me and have worried for me, but everything......is so fuzzy".
When she get's out of the hospital where would she go, where does she even live. Tohru didn't want to be a burden on anyone to take her under their roof, that was the last thing she wanted. When she tried to apologize for worrying people though the machines in the room had begun to jump and come to life, beeping got louder and her heart rate seemed to speed up quite abit. But she soon calmed down not wanting the nurses to come into the room and wonder what the heck is going on. Hearing what the boy said she quickly shook her head, nope not really a big fan of the nurses. "I just don't want them to think something is wrong, that's all". Watching the boy reach for her hand and hold it lightly, something small sparked inside her. Even this touch was so familiar, but also someone else used to hold her hand like this as well she mentioned the way he spoke and how she always felt like he's held her hand this way always. Feeling his hand tighten on hers a little she tried to reassure him with a light squeeze that everything was going to be fine.
Did she say something that upset him, oh she didn't want to panic again if she did or said something wrong. Tohru then noticed the tears sliding down the side of the boy's face, oh no oh no! Why was he crying, had something made him sad. Turning her gaze from the silver haired boy she picked up the teddy bear that was beside her on the bed and showed it to him. Saying that a person named Momiji had left it for her, and for some reason it meant alot to her. Like if she ever lost it she would be losing a piece of her heart right along with it. She noticed that the tears were no longer sliding down the boy's cheeks and that made her smile a little. But she didn't mean to make him sad in the first place. "Tears don't suit you, i'm sorry if I said something to make you sad". His face wasn't mean to be stained with tears, deep down inside she wanted to see him always smile.
As he spoke again she looked back to the teddy bear, so Momiji was a friend...is still a friend of hers. Tohru then glanced over to the other gifts and cards on the bedside table, yes.....Yuki Sohma she had read his name among the others. "Momiji......he left this for me, and you....Yuki your name I read from those cards as well. You all care for me but I feel deep down that I should know all of you, but I feel like a part of me is missing". Now she could feel warm tears forming in her eyes, and then she started crying.

He didn't think that anything could hurt this much. Nothing, nothing at all could hurt as much as he did right then. He would of rather felt any kind of flesh wound, actually he would rather be in the hospital bed than Tohru. He would do just about anything to take her place. To forget them, that she didn't remember anything, it hurt him. It hurt him so much and he didn't know what to do. It felt like everything was spinning and couldn't control anything. It was the same feeling he had felt a long time ago, when he was nothing but a child under Akito's orders.
The only reason he probably didn't brake down like he wanted to was because he was with Tohru. She didn't need a crying yuki on her hands right now. To much had gone on, to much had happened in a small time. Right now, she needed a friend. A good one that would stay next to her and smile even though things seemed hopeless. Yuki could do at least that for her. For everything she had ever done for him, for the sohma's. Yuki could do this much, he pushed his emotions back, it was a specialty of his.
His eyes however, they couldn't help but soften as Tohru spoke to him. Tears didn't belong on his face, she had said. It made him feel better. Even in the smallest of ways. It didn't really matter how much the world seemed to be braking around you. Tohru seemed to have a magical gift to cure pain, and she cured his right then and there. Those emotions he had just hid, they seemed to just fade, lifting the weight of his shoulders again. Even if she didn't have her memories, she was still his Tohru, the same Tohru. Memories wouldn't change that, though they would make things so much easier.
"No miss Tohru, if anything you made things much better." he said softly. A small coming to his features once more. He was happy to be with her, happy he could be here for her. Thoughts of what was to come and of the anger he had had in his heart earlier seemed to lighten. Tohru always did this to him. A wonderful thing she was able to do. She was one of the only people to completely relax the male, and it was a pleasant feeling indeed. One Yuki never wanted to forget and wanted to feel forever.
As the male listened to her words his eyes saddened slightly. He moved to her, his free hand that wasn't holding hers moved. He gently wiped the tears from her eyes with gentle movements. "Oh no, miss Tohru. Even if you don't remember us.. you have something much more precious than that. You have us in your heart. I'm sure, you can still feel that, knowing how much we care for you. That will never change, memories or no memories. A part of you can't be missing, because it never left. We will always be with you." he said softly.
Yuki truly believed what he said. It was the truth to him. Or at least for him it would be. No matter what the future held, he would always be with Tohru. Even if he wasn't with her physically, he would always be with her in her heart. It was a promise he could always hold and one he would never, ever abandoned.
"I promise, I will always be with you.." he said softly.
